Connect with RDP-client to VirtualBox Oracle Developer Day VM

This is more of a reminder for myself (so that next time I don’t have to go looking again)

On my Windows PC I use VirtualBox for running multiple virtual machines with all my Oracle stuff.

This weekend I downloaded and imported the latest “Database App Development VM” appliance, which at the time of writing contains Oracle 12.1.0.2 + APEX 5.0.3 + ORDS 3.0.3

Intel SSD 750 series SSD

This week I got myself an intel SSD 750 series SSD (400 GB) for my Dell Optiplex-9010 desktop PC. A machine that is almost 3 years old now.

It has an Intel i7-3770 CPU (4 cores + hyperthreading) and 32 Gigabytes of RAM. I already had a small 128GB SSD in that machine.

To increase performance and to bypass the SATA2 bottleneck, I decided to get the 750SSD, which comes as a PCI Express Card (Gen 3 x4)
